Exercise Physiotherapy

Exercise Physiologist (EP) is an allied health profession specialised in clinical exercise intervention for people with a broad range of health issues. The aims of exercise physiology interventions are to prevent or manage acute, sub-acute or chronic disease or injury, and assist in restoring ones' optimal physical function, health or wellness. These interventions are exercise-based and include health and physical activity education, advice and support and lifestyle modification with a strong focus on achieving behavioural change.

We provide comprehensive 50 minute 1:1 Exercise Physiology services to assist and guide you to find the right type of movement and the right type of movement setting for you. We will provide you with exercises as per your requirements, whether that is weights based, cardio-respiratory based or Pilates based movement.

The classes are ideal for the rehabilitation and management of injuries, particularly for back injuries and treatment of chronic back pain, as well as improving general fitness. Each class runs for 50 minutes (with 4 clients). At Southport Health Clinic, we are looking to find ways for people of all ages and stages to access affordable, regular and accessible exercise programs. Our group exercise class offers an opportunity for anyone to regularly maintain or increase their fitness without the hassle of ongoing membership or larger gym surroundings. Please contact reception for more information or bookings.
